Thanksgiving Weekend

Why is it that long weekends are always so busy??!?! You can see from the length of my blog that we did a lot over the holiday weekend. Thursday morning we headed off to my parents house to visit David and Emily. The got into town late Wednesday night. David and Emily gave Brianna her Christmas gift a little early since they will be celebrating with Emily's family this year. She was so excited about her Snow White outfit!! Emily also made her this awesome tutu, but the Snow White dress overshadowed the cute little tutu. Brianna was so excited about the dress that she didn't want to take it off so she wore it to the Miller's house where we headed to next to eat Thanksgiving lunch/dinner. While at the Miller's the "real" snow white came for a visit. It was really Nancy (Aunt Karen's sister) in disguise. Yes, she had the costume in her car. Brianna was speechless and that doesn't happen often! The food was great, as usual. Jayme enjoyed eating and watching tv all day.
The kids had a blast after they ate, they played Dance, Dance Revolution for a long time! Here is Brianna and Jackson eating.
Friday morning Nicki and I went shopping at 4:15 am so we could get awesome Black Friday deals! We hit Meijer, WalMart, Target, Ulta, Kohls and Elder Beerman before we stopped for a cheeseburger and fries at Steak & Shake around 10:00am. Hey, it was clearly lunch time for us at that point. While we were out shopping, Jayme helped our friend Josh Sanders blow insulation into the house they are building. He would not recommend that anyone ever do this. Apparently it's a dirty job. Brianna was hanging out with her Uncle David and Aunt Emily. They had a blast taking Brianna around the house in the four wheeler. Apparently, she wanted to go faster than Uncle David thought. Nice pants Uncle David.
After all of this, we celebrated Thanksgiving again with they Geyer/Crawford clan. It was a relaxing afternoon. The food was great (again!). It's always great to see everyone.

Brianna had a blast playing with her "Boy cousin, Matthias".

She played with her "Aunt Tonhy" (who is really her second cousin)

She even got to hang out with Andy!! What a treat!
Saturday, we (Me, Jayme, Brianna, Mom, David, and Emily) went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch and to visit Tonhy. It was yummy and the cool part was he let us order off the Ranger menu (big kids). Grandma, I know you want a copy of that picture.
After an afternoon nap, we headed back over to my parent's house where we relaxed all afternoon. We ate leftover Thanksgiving food, which I'm sick of by now. Emily and David taught us how to play Settlers of Catan. A new game of theirs. I'm not really sure that I even understand how to play still. But, we laughed a lot which is always a good thing.
Sunday we began decorating for Christmas. What a treat. It's on this day every year that I vow to buy a pre-lit Christmas tree. Oh what a pain it is to put up the tree and then wrap the lights around each branch. Here is the finished product.
Jayme put together the train set this year. Brianna LOVES it to say the least. Here they are admiring the train.

Brianna put together Piper's Advent calendar.

And even Piper got into the holiday spirit. What a good dog!
